Just like in 2009 with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, developers and owners are preparing for a large amount of construction post-COVID. Following the American Society of Civil Engineers, a report card for America’s Infrastructure was recently published establishing that the overall grade across the nation only reached a C-. The Design-Build Institute of America states that cities, neighborhoods, and homes alike will benefit greatly from design-build operations. As the cost-effectiveness of construction and management for large-scale projects that focus on infrastructure improvements, commercial construction, multifamily construction, and more all will improve the failing grade America has plaguing its cities. There is hope that the rise in construction and development following 2020 will spark a revolutionary movement towards rebuilding infrastructure, improving public services, and providing jobs. Design-build methods offer a stable and constructive method that can be applied to projects of any size, scale, and scope.
